WORK RESTARTS ON NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY BETWEEN ABERDEEN AND WINGEN
Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter today advised motorists that Roads and Maritime Services work to improve and upgrade the New England Highway between Aberdeen and Wingen will restart next week.
Mr Johnsen said work had been temporarily suspended to minimise impact on motorists during Scone Horse Festival and the Scone Cup.
“This work will be carried out on the travel lanes and road shoulders at seven sites between Aberdeen and Wingen and involves improving line marking, upgrading safety barriers, strengthening the road and installing new signs at some intersections,” Mr Johnsen said.
“Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm during the week and between 8am and 6pm on Saturdays until late June, weather permitting.
“For the safety of workers and motorists, lane closures and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place and may affect travel times. Access to properties in the project area will be maintained at all times.
“Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control and signs and keep to the reduced speed limits.
“I would like to join with Roads and Maritime Services in thanking motorists for their patience while this work is carried out,” Mr Johnsen concluded.
