Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter is advising motorists that the Brig O’Johnston Bridge at Clarence Town has reopened to traffic following essential repairs to ensure its continued safe operation.
Mr Johnsen said the bridge had reopened as of 4pm, Tuesday 6 October, almost a week earlier than planned, and will continue to be load limited to vehicles 40 tonnes and under.
“Transport for NSW have been able to complete the repair works on the bridge at Clarence Town several days ahead of schedule, so the bridge is now open to traffic,” Mr Johnsen said.
“I would like to commend Transport for NSW for their work, and would please ask motorists to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.”
