Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter today announced that the Nationals in Government have provided $24,420.00 for an upgrade to the Denman Memorial Park Fence.
Mr Johnsen said the money was granted by the Government as result of direct representations made by him to the Deputy Premier on behalf of the Denman community.
“Our Denman Community, supported by the Denman Chamber of Commerce, has been wanting to fund this upgrade for some time, but local government was not able to assist, so our Denman community turned to me,” Mr Johnsen said.
“Following my personal lobbying, this funding was kindly made available by the Deputy Premier.
“The Nationals in Government are committed to honouring our rural and regional history, especially Australia’s military heritage, and remembering the fallen.”
“The Memorial Park is a much loved and utilized recreational facility which sees constant use from locals and tourists alike, and now the Denman Chamber of Commerce have the funds and can get on with the job,” Mr Johnsen concluded.
