Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter today expressed gratitude for his appointment to the role of Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture.
“I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture,” Mr Johnsen said.
“Our electorate of Upper Hunter is well known for some of the best agricultural land in NSW, and many opportunities lay ahead for our dynamic farming sector.
“We have several world famous industries in Upper Hunter, of which agriculture is amongst the most important, so I am pleased this role will also allow me to continue to strongly support our local farmers and primary producers.
“I am looking forward to working with the new Minister for Agriculture, Adam Marshall, to support rural and regional farmers, and help deliver to our communities on behalf of the Nationals in Government.
“With news of this announcement, I am hearing from members of our community regarding the Agriculture portfolio.
“I look forward to listening to local stakeholders, and conveying their needs to the heart of decision making on Macquarie Street.
“I am determined to do what I can to help our current and future farming entrepreneurs to succeed.
